COMPACT PLANTS
DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY (AOP)

Advanced Oxidation Systems

At Synertech, we push water chemistry to its limits. When conventional biological or physicochemical processes fail against toxic and recalcitrant effluents, our Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) technology takes over. Through the large-scale generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH•), we break down dyes, heavy metals, complex hydrocarbons, pesticides and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) at the molecular level.

Flotation + Basic Oxidation

Oxifloat

The ideal combination of physicochemical separation and oxidative disinfection. Designed for effluents with high fats, oils and grease (FOG) loads that also require simultaneous disinfection.

System Components:
  • CAF/DAF System: Primary separation by flotation.
  • Ozone Generator: Controlled injection for initial oxidation.
  • UV Module: Reaction acceleration and disinfection.

Flotation + Oxidation + Filtration

Oxifloat Ultra

Oxifloat is taken to the next level by integrating submicron physical filtration barriers. It not only ensures chemical oxidation, but also delivers crystal-clear, solids-free effluent.

System Components:
  • CAF/DAF System + Ozone + UV.
  • Disc Filters: Protection and retention of medium-sized solids.
  • Ultrafiltration: Membranes that provide a final polishing barrier.

Intensive Oxidation and Nanobubbles

Oximax

The industrial standard for advanced oxidation. It maximizes mass-transfer efficiency by injecting ozone as nanobubbles, ensuring rapid gas dissolution and reaction against recalcitrant organic contaminants.

System Components:
  • Industrial Ozone Generator.
  • UV Reactors: Free-radical enhancement.
  • Nanobubble Pump: High-efficiency gas dissolution to minimize O3 losses.
Advanced Oxidation Components
Complete Heterogeneous Photocatalysis

Oximax Ultra

The highest level of water treatment. It uses the photocatalytic effect of titanium dioxide (TiO2) activated by UV and ozone to break down contaminants at the atomic level, supported by a final ultrafiltration stage.

System Components:
  • Ozone Generator + UV Module.
  • Titanium Dioxide Reactor (TiO2): Catalyst for high-intensity oxidation.
  • Contact Vessel: Pressurized tank for required contact time.
  • Disc Filters + Ultrafiltration.

Maximum Ozone Resistance:
304 Stainless Steel

Ozone is one of nature's strongest oxidants. To ensure the service life of our Oximax and Oxifloat equipment, we use grade 304 stainless steel subjected to a rigorous five-stage surface-finishing process.

Laboratory quality control and TIG/MIG welding.

1
Pickling Cleaning

Removes oxides and heat-related welding impurities, leaving the base stainless steel structurally clean.

2
Scotch-Brite

Controlled mechanical surface treatment that removes micro-roughness and helps prevent the accumulation of reactive residues.

3
Chemical Passivation

Restores the steel's protective chromium oxide layer, significantly improving resistance to high O3 concentrations.

4
Pressure Washing

High-pressure cleaning with demineralized water to remove acidic residues and leave the surface neutral.

5
DW-40 Sealing

Final application of a hydrophobic film that protects the equipment from moisture during transportation and marine installation.

WE ANSWER YOUR TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

STRATEGIC DECISIONS ABOUT
ADVANCED OXIDATION (AOP)

Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) are water treatment technologies based on the generation of hydroxyl radicals (OH•), one of nature's most powerful oxidants. Equipment such as our Oximax is essential when effluents contain recalcitrant compounds that biological treatment cannot degrade, including industrial dyes, pesticides, phenols, cyanides and pharmaceutical compounds. When biological or physicochemical treatment is insufficient, advanced oxidation breaks down toxic molecules into simpler compounds such as water and CO2.

The versatility of the Oxifloat line, which can include DAF, makes it ideal for meat processing, dairy and food facilities where high grease loads must be removed while disinfecting in a single stage. The Oximax and Oximax Ultra series are designed for heavy industrial applications such as textile processing, pharmaceutical and cosmetics manufacturing, petrochemical operations and landfill leachate treatment.

Although ozone is a powerful oxidant on its own, its effect increases significantly when combined with UV light or a catalyst such as TiO2. This chemical synergy, known as photocatalysis or the O3/UV process, accelerates ozone decomposition and generates high concentrations of hydroxyl radicals. This can reduce the required hydraulic retention time and improve the mineralization of complex toxic compounds that ozone alone would degrade more slowly.

The Ultra versions include a final physical separation stage using self-cleaning disc filters and ultrafiltration membranes. While ozone and UV radiation reduce toxicity and dissolved color, ultrafiltration retains microscopic precipitates, suspended particles and residual solids generated during oxidation. The result is high-quality treated water suitable for reuse in boilers, cooling towers or critical industrial processes.
