Do you require the highest discharge quality or plan to reuse water in production processes or irrigation? MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) technology is the definitive solution. We combine activated-sludge biological treatment with physical separation through microscopic ultrafiltration membranes, completely eliminating the need for conventional clarifiers.
Our solution is ideal for industrial, pharmaceutical, food-processing and demanding urban developments. The membranes act as an effective physical barrier against suspended solids, bacteria and viruses, producing crystal-clear, high-quality effluent designed to meet the most stringent environmental standards worldwide.
Discover why biological ultrafiltration technology is the global standard for wastewater treatment and reuse.
Precise separation of liquid and biomass through microscopic pores. It ensures complete retention of total suspended solids (TSS), coliforms and pathogens without the need for clarifying chemicals.
By eliminating the secondary settling tank and operating at much higher biomass concentrations (MLSS), we reduce the required footprint by up to 50% compared with conventional systems.
Intelligent PLC control manages filtration cycles, membrane backwashing and chemical cleaning (CIP) autonomously, maximizing equipment service life.
Synertech is a leading manufacturer of membrane bioreactors. As ultrafiltration specialists, we develop innovative technologies that support environmental compliance while delivering exceptional water quality suitable for direct reuse.
The MBR system combines advanced biological treatment with a submicron physical barrier. Our wastewater treatment plant eliminates conventional clarifiers and produces water free of suspended solids, bacteria and viruses.
The reactor maintains high concentrations of active biomass (MLSS), achieving rapid and intensive oxidation of organic matter (BOD and COD) and complex nutrients.
Mixed liquor is drawn through ultrafiltration membrane modules. Only treated water passes through the pores, leaving suspended solids and microorganisms behind.

Strict Compliance and Reuse (Resolution 0631)
At Synertech, we take wastewater treatment to the highest technical level. Our containerized MBR-BOX combines biological digestion with the physical barrier of ultrafiltration membranes. The result is exceptionally clean effluent with high removal of BOD, COD, suspended solids and pathogens in an ultra-compact footprint, ideal for strict compliance and direct water reuse.
The MBR-BOX combines physical and biological processes within one controlled treatment environment. Unlike conventional plants that rely on gravity settling, ultrafiltration membranes provide consistent liquid-solid separation regardless of sludge-settling characteristics.
The membranes require an effective upstream barrier. Coarse solids, hair and sand are retained through automated fine screening below 2 mm. The water then enters an equalization tank to stabilize flows and organic concentrations.
PURPOSE: Protects membrane modules from mechanical blockage and provides microorganisms with a stable organic load.
The heart of the system. We maintain very high suspended-biomass concentrations (MLSS of 8,000 to 12,000 mg/L) through intensive oxygen injection. Bacteria rapidly metabolize carbonaceous and nitrogen-based contaminants.
PURPOSE: Provides deep BOD, COD and nutrient reduction. By maintaining up to three times more bacteria per cubic meter, the required tank size is significantly reduced.
We replace the conventional clarifier. A pump applies gentle suction through the microscopic pores (0.04-0.1 µm) of submerged membrane cassettes, while continuous coarse-bubble scouring cleans the membrane surface and reduces fouling.
PURPOSE: Provides a highly effective physical barrier that retains biomass and total suspended solids (TSS), producing clear water without relying on gravity settling or flocculating chemicals.
Although the membranes retain most pathogens and bacteria, the ultrafiltered water passes through a final tertiary stage using ultraviolet radiation or hypochlorite dosing for complete disinfection.
PURPOSE: Produces odor-free effluent designed to meet strict discharge standards and support industrial reuse or irrigation.
For projects with demanding sanitary requirements or highly corrosive effluents, we offer stainless-steel structures treated through a rigorous five-stage engineering process.
Laboratory quality control and steel surface finishing.
Removes oxides and heat-related welding impurities, leaving the base steel structurally clean and decontaminated.
Controlled mechanical surface treatment that removes micro-roughness, corrects imperfections and creates a uniform finish.
Uses a controlled chemical reaction to restore the steel's protective chromium oxide layer and improve resistance to acidic effluents.
High-pressure cleaning with demineralized water removes acidic traces and chemical residues, leaving a neutral surface.
Final application of a temporary hydrophobic protective film that isolates the surface from moisture and external agents during transportation and installation.
WWTP installed at mining operations and operating under severe climatic and operating conditions.
System installed under strict international standards without requiring invasive construction work.
Explore the interior of our containerized plant. MBR-BOX integrates physical, biological and advanced ultrafiltration processes in a highly controlled environment to maximize effluent quality and enable direct reuse.
The system's first line of defense. In MBR technology, raw water must be conditioned to protect downstream membrane pores from blockage caused by solids or hair.
Millimeter-sized solids, sand and free oils are retained using precision screening below 2 mm. The effluent then flows to an equalization tank that stabilizes flow and organic-load peaks.
The biological core of the plant. We operate with biomass concentrations (MLSS) up to three times higher than conventional systems. Fine-bubble diffusers inject oxygen to keep aerobic microorganisms active.
The high bacterial concentration rapidly metabolizes dissolved contaminants, including BOD and nitrogen compounds, within a smaller reactor volume:
Fine-bubble aeration and intensive biological mixing.
We replace inefficient settling tanks with physical filtration barriers. Submerged membranes filter water at the submicron level, removing total suspended solids (TSS), coliforms and pathogens and producing clear water suitable for industrial reuse or irrigation.
Specialized pumps apply gentle negative pressure through membrane-cassette micropores, drawing treated water (permeate) while retaining sludge.
Coarse air bubbles injected beneath the membranes continuously scrub the surface, helping prevent biomass adhesion and pore fouling.
Because membrane filtration produces very low turbidity, ultraviolet light achieves high transmittance and inactivates residual microorganisms without chemicals.
Ultrafiltration membranes are highly sensitive to fats, oils and grease (FOG), which can permanently block membrane pores. Our skimmer continuously removes floating contaminants and protects the MBR investment.
Its compact vertical design allows direct installation in tanks, channels or separation chambers. The system automatically transfers contaminants to a discharge or storage point with minimal maintenance.
Prevents oil from adhering to ultrafiltration cassettes and helps avoid irreversible fouling that reduces permeate flow.
Corrosion-resistant metal structure designed for long service life in demanding environments such as refineries, petrochemical facilities and food-processing plants.
A cost-effective solution for recovering floating oils while reducing the frequency of chemical backwashing.
Enhance your ultrafiltration plant with peripheral modules designed to automate, protect and optimize operation under demanding industrial or climatic conditions.

Submersible pumping system in operation.
Designed in accordance with strict international standards for volatile environments. Its enclosure is machined from ½-inch-thick stainless steel, providing physical protection for the PLC that controls the membranes.
Includes a high-performance flame-resistant system that contains sparks and short circuits. It is suited for refineries, vessels, underground mining and chemical plants.
Reduce odor impact from the WWTP in urban environments using ultraviolet-based technology designed to break down and deactivate residual gases generated during biological digestion.
UV light acts directly on odor-causing molecules such as hydrogen sulfide, breaking chemical bonds without masking agents:
Developed to provide off-grid power to the fully automated WWTP around the clock. It combines photovoltaic generation with deep-cycle AGM battery banks to power MBR blowers.
Includes a diesel/HVO hybrid generator. The PLC operates in standby mode and starts the engine only when batteries are depleted or during extreme load peaks, reducing emissions.
The modular architecture of our MBR-BOX WWTP adapts to the surrounding project environment. By using ultrafiltration membranes and eliminating large settling tanks, the system becomes ultra-compact and can be installed underground or integrated with architectural landscaping such as living walls.
